Contractor Selection

"You're not buying a paint job, you're buying a contractor"

*Qualified Remodeler magazine did a survey that showed 48% of all people who hire a contractor would not hire that contractor again. At Rosewood Painting we suggest that you evaluate your contractor as carefully as you would choose your doctor or lawyer. Here are some suggestions to help you make a good choice in contractor selection.
  • Get it in writing. Be sure all estimates are given in a clear detailed written proposal. The proposal should include: how preparation is to be done, products to be used, price and how changes to the proposal will be addressed.
  • Check for insurance coverage. If a contractor should damage your property or become injured on your property, and he doesn't have the proper insurance coverage, you may be paying for repairs to your property and possibly his medical bills if he is injured.
  • Who are the people doing the work. You need to know if the workers on your project are drug tested, trained on a regular basis, and have background checks performed.
  • Get multiple estimates. Comparison shopping is a good idea. Be careful choosing a contractor based only on the lowest price. Studies have shown that customer dissatisfaction often comes from the low priced contractor.
