2019 Color Trends
Choosing a paint color can be overwhelming and seem like a permanent choice. The good news is that paint is not permanent! Choosing to repaint over an old color is a great way to transform a room without breaking the bank.
White paint is a timeless choice that is not going anywhere this year. Designers and manufacturers alike are moving away from the cool grays that have dominated the past several years. Moving from cool grays to warmer neutrals is where things are headed. Warm tones tend to give added dimension and depth and are very popular in the “farmhouse” trend.
2019 is all about hues. A hue is the attribute of a color by virtue of which it is discernible as red, green, etc., and which is dependent on its dominant wavelength and independent of intensity or lightness. Variation in hues will be a defining trend in 2019. Three popular colors this year that exemplify this is Benjamin Moore’s colors Hale Navy, Beau Green, and Head Over Heels.
Crisp whites are still in along with lighter pinks. Valspar’s Blushing Bride offers a chic hue that has been a designer favorite for rooms with natural lighting.
